Swirling darkness surrounds us all. We can lie to ourselves that we’re bathed in golden flame but that’s an untruth that will resonate within us until the very day we are overwhelmed with self-assurance. Where does your mind wander when you’re all alone? I bet it spits up forlorn memories that are fuelled by regret and pain. A lost love? A misspoken word? There’s nothing you can hide from yourself, nor me. I walk the streets in quiet contemplation; my judgements no sooner fabricate in the bowels of my mind that your eyes meet mine and fear grips hold and trembles through your whole self. I know what it is you hide from - your own reflection. Just know that it will always be you; it always has been.
